Benefits of CrossFit in my CrossFit Life.

What is CrossFit? If you ask Greg Glassman he would anwer that CrossFit is constantly varied high intensity functional movement. If you ask me what CrossFit is, I’d answer that CrossFit is my savior. My name is Tony I go to North Dakota State University and I Crossfit. I ended the previous chapter of my CrossFit tale here with my Crossfit Gloves and here is how my story continues.

During the first two weeks of WoD-ing, I’ve learned what CrossFit really has to offer. I do wake up sore in the morning like the next CrossFitter but I’ve been growing stronger and healthier really really FAST! It was a painful and rewarding love-hate relationship. During my stay in the box, I’ve been pushed to my physical limits on each WoD, and I was trained by CrossFit to be prepared for any physical challenge that is presented to me. And since CrossFit pushes you beyond your limits in mere minutes it’s the clear choice for university students like me or very busy people to keep in top shape. My SRX Crossfit gloves helped me get through most of my intense workouts. I was able to do more reps in pull-ups because of the grip it provides me. There really are some exercises that are easier to accomplish if you use Crossfit gloves. It gives you the right support just when you need it the most.

Well apart from the physical benefits of CrossFit and WoD-ing which speaks for itself, my team has instilled core values which are a necessity to achieve any WoD and succeed in life. CrossFit has taught me to discipline – from burgers, chips, and junk food to a strict “Paleo” diet. I’ve also learned perseverance – without this you won’t be able to survive and endure any WoD in CrossFit. The team also taught me humility and respect – to never underestimate any WoD despite how much you’ve grown. And lastly CrossFit has taught me confidence – this is one of the values I hold dearest since I used to be a low self esteem type of guy, everyone inspired and motivated me to take on any WoD or challenge, constantly moving forward and being better and stronger than who I was the day before.

After months of WoD-ing people from the university started paying attention to me, people who knew me saw the change and didn’t recognize me. Because of CrossFit my life has flipped to the good side. Everything was just brighter; I gained a new family, became healthier, and lost a LOT of unnecessary pounds. My life is not what it used to be. Thanks to CrossFit. My name is Tony and six months ago I was an average joe who was peasantly plump and now I am AWESOME inside and out because I let CrossFit into my life.
